Mystery Room Challenge Boosted Teamwork and Collaboration at Saint-Gobain

Client Request

Global sustainable building materials leader Saint-Gobain asked us to come up with a team building activity to engage their employees during a one-hour gap between a meeting and the subsequent dinner. We could only work within that time frame and needed to stage the whole session within one room of the chosen venue. So naturally we turned it into a mystery escape room!

Our Project

As participants entered the room, the door locked behind them. The challenge was straightforward but complex: teams had to solve a series of puzzles hidden in drawers to find the key to their escape, all within 60 minutes.

The activity revealed intriguing group dynamics. Natural leaders emerged, but it was the team's collective spirit that truly impressed. Colleagues who rarely interacted in the office worked together, combining their unique skills to solve the puzzles.

Outcome

The event was a resounding success. Participants enthusiastically tackled the challenge, showing that when pushed outside their comfort zones, people can achieve impressive results. While the winning team found the key first, every group came out on top in terms of improved collaboration and communication.
