Blending fashion & aviation history: a unique press event

During the February Fashion Week 2017, British Airways wanted to surprise the public with a truly unique artistic collaboration. The airline teamed up with talented fashion designer Zoe Bradley to create a sculpture-dress made from approximately 5,000 boarding passes. We were contracted to find the perfect venue to unveil this amazing creation and provide the whole event set-up.

Our Project

A morning of pure glamour lit up Piazza del Duomo, where an exclusive photo shoot took place featuring the stunning actress Suzi Waterhouse and the iconic David Gandy. The beauty of the square and the elegance of the participants created a magical atmosphere, making the event unforgettable.

In the afternoon, the extraordinary creation by Zoe Bradly caught the attention of everyone in attendance, demonstrating how art and fashion can merge in innovative and spectacular ways. We selected a space in Corso Como for this purpose, where bloggers and journalists came to admire the incredible dress-sculpture. The catwalk revisited the evolution of air hostess uniforms from the 1920s to today, showing how fashion in the aviation industry has changed over the decades.

The "Prêt-à-Porter" event, conceived by the famous The Berkeley London, was enhanced by the presence of a talented London chef who delighted guests with aviation-themed biscuits, decorated with intricate and striking details.

During the event, refined English tea was available, offering members of the press an immersive experience in British tradition. A selection of fine teas and traditional pastries accompanied this moment of relaxation, allowing guests to fully appreciate the elegant and sophisticated atmosphere of the event.

Outcome

The event turned out to be an extraordinary success, receiving ample press coverage. The bloggers and journalists present were impressed by the flawless organisation and the exceptional quality of the content presented. The attention to detail and innovative approach significantly contributed to creating a memorable experience that exceeded all expectations, eliciting unanimous praise.
